Travis Scott, born Jacques Bermon Webster II, was born on 30th April 1991, is an American singer, rapper, songwriter, and record producer. Webster’s father was a soul musician, and his grandfather was a jazz composer.

Travis attended Elkins High school and graduated aged seventeen. He attended the University of Texas at San Antonio before dropping out after two years to pursue music.

Travis Scott does not identify with any religion and has never confessed his faith in any religion. However, he has, in recent years, rapped scriptural verses in his songs. In 2020, he reunited with mentor Kanye West on ‘’Wash Us in the Blood,’’ a Christianity-infused hip-pop.

On the song, Travis raps about the sixth commandment comparing it with the United States death penalty:

Travis Scott’s Political Views

Travis Scott has not publicly declared his political party and affiliation. He has largely remained silent on the political debates, but some actions have shown his leaning to the left.

In 2018, Travis Scott was spotted wearing Texas Senate Democratic Candidate Beto O’Rourke who was running against Senator Ted Cruz. He later attended an event at Bayland Community Center in Houston on October 28th, 2018. Scott addressed the crowd using the megaphone, reminding a youthful group they have the power to change the world.

Asked about his mentor Kanye West’s affiliation with MAGA and right-wing politics he said, ‘’Maybe he likes the hat’’.
